Get Involved — Volunteer!

BIS is a great school in large part because of our parents! Please consider volunteering at school. There are many opportunities that help the staff and students! You can express interest in volunteering by please filling out this Volunteer Interest form.

BSD VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS

To become an on-campus volunteer in the Burlingame School District:

1. Obtain Fingerprint Clearance.
   
   
2. Fill out a LiveScan form and have your fingerprints taken at a UPS Store or through a mobile service offered by your school’s PTA. Fingerprint clearance will be sent directly to the District Office and will be applicable for your entire time in the Burlingame School District. For example, if you obtained clearance at your child's BSD elementary school, your approved status will still be on file throughout your tenure at BIS.  
   
   
3. Confirm with your site principal that you are on the “Cleared Volunteers List” maintained at each school in BSD.

If you have completed fingerprint clearance and the LiveScan, please email your full name and school to volunteer@burlingameschools.org to confirm with the District Office.

To become a field trip driver in the Burlingame School District:

1. Confirm you are on the “Cleared Volunteers List” maintained at your child’s school.
2. Review and complete the attached Declaration of Driver form. Please carefully note the required coverage/qualifications!
3. Submit the completed form to your school secretary.
4. Confirm with your site principal that your paperwork is approved and complete WELL BEFORE your child’s field trip is scheduled.
